Every year in Ramadān this despicable drama unfolds on Pakistani television,
“Alim k Bol”
Is chart topper chat show (with scholars from all sects) that has the highest viewership of any thing else on air in Pakistan, and what’s important to note is that this show is also hugely popular with the Urdu speakingAhle Hadees across the subcontinent.
And this show has propelled Qari Khaleel Ur Rahman – the Ahle Hadees representative in the show – to near hero like status,
And the reason being that he is able to very assertively put his point across mainly on issues like 8 Rakaat, Makeup for women, Qaza Namaz etc.
And last year his poppularity rose to an all come high when the show host Amir Liaqat ganged up on him on the issue of Zakir Naik’s statements on the Prophet عليه سلام.
After a high voltage walkout,
Qari Khaleel was seen making serious allegations on the host , including that of attacking senior Sahaaba.
But less than a week later Qari Khaleel came back to that show again and they all chatted happily ever after.
With Qari Khaleel being hailed as a Victor/champion by the Ahle Hadees.
Now a few things to be noted about the show-
1. The show is hosted by a man who was recorded reviling Sayyidna Abu Bakr whilst elevating Sayyidna Ali.
There is video evidence of him mocking Shaikh In Baaz, Shaikh Albanee, Imam Ibn Taimiya. He is well known to be staunch critic of Saudi Arabia and “Wahabism”.
And not to mention his abusive tongue and allegations of sexual misconduct and money laundering.
2. The format of the show is not that of a debate but of a platform where everyone can agree and make peace on all issues.
Repeated calls and claims of unity is make from the show between Ahle Hadees Barelvi and Shia.
3. Qari Sahab accused Ameer Liaqat of attacking Sayyidna Abu Bakr among many other serious allegations after he left,
What happened later that he changed his decision and returned to hug and kiss him?
Can a true Sunnee ever kiss a man who abuses the best of men after the Prophets?
4. The show has mixed seating with men and women sitting and eating together,
Camera is often focused on women who are not dressed in a accordance with Islamic sharia , who ask directly ask questions while the camera zooms in on them.
Should someone from Ahlus Sunnah attend such a gathering?
5. Even if Qari Sahab is able to validate Raf Al Yadain and 8 Rakaat taraweeh,
The larger message of unity with Ahlul Bidaa and Mushrikeen will do a greater damage as it contradicts the Aqeedah of Ahlus Sunnah.
Point to be noted that Qari Khaleel is always seen sitting next to the Shia representative and upon his return hugged him very passionately.
Morale of the story – the Popularity of such individuals is just one of the many examples which proves how ignorant and indifferent the Ahle Hadees ( both lay and leather alike) are to the Aqeedah of Ahlus Sunnah.
