Scholarly criticisms against Saleh al Munajjid (Islamqa.com)
Br. Mustafa George hafithahullah asked Shaykh Ahmed an-Najmee rahimahullah about him on Rajab 14, 1427 (Aug. 8, 2006)
Q. What is your opinion about Muhammed bin Saleh al Munajjid?
Answer: From what has come to me, he is close to the way of the #IkwanAlMuslimeen.

This man also brings the old fatwa of Shaykh bin Baaz (rahimahullaah) to try and defend them. Our brother Abu ‘Abdil-‘Azeez al-Misree (abu.abdul.azeez), who mash’allaah put together that invaluable thread entitled: The Tableeghee Encyclopedia: A Guide to the Heretical Sect of Shirk and Dalaal Ð JamaaÕat ut-Tableegh , wrote:
quote:
They were (and still are) quick to cite the 17 year-old fatwa of Shaykh Bin Baaz supposedly in their favor[1], yet they run away from his three fataawa as brought by Shaykh RabeeÕ, two of which were issued only a few years before the ShaykhÕs death.
If the man, al-Munajjid, was just, he would cite the most recent fatwa of Shaykh bin Baaz (rahimahullaah):
quote:
They enter into the 72. Whosoever opposes the Ôaqeedah of Ahl us-Sunnah enters into the 72 sects. And what is meant by his (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) statement ÒMy Ummah…Ó is Ummat ul-Ijaabah (response), meaning they responded to him and openly showed their adherence to him. [So there are] 73 sects: the saved, secure sect which followed him and remained steadfast upon his religion, and the 72 sects, amongst whom are the disbelievers[1], and amongst them are the sinners, and amongst them are the innovators of various types.
And:
quote:
Yes, they are included amongst the 72, as well as the MurjiÕah[2] and other then them Ð the MurjiÕah and Khawaarij. Some of the People of Knowledge consider the Khawaarij to be amongst the disbelievers[3], outside [of Islam] but entering into the generality of the 72.

This “head of Qutubiyyah” has his own website, the URL of which will not be disclosed for obvious reasons, and on it he openly promotes not only Sayyid Qutb but also a clear Suroori/ Qutubi/ Takfeeri organisation (may Allaah disorganise them) in London UK called al-Muntada al-Islaami, established upon the takfeeri manhaj of Muhammad Suroor (For more info see: Muhammad Suroor Zainul-Aabideen. In giving advice to a young lady contemplating reverting to Islaam, he candidly refers to the above organisation as a ‘starting point’:
“…There follows the telephone number of #Al_MuntadaAl_Islami in London, so you can call them and ask about the times of women?s classes; this may be a starting point for you, since you live in the U.K. [phone number omitted ]”
The answer is digitally signed by al-Munajjid himself:
“Islam Q&A Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid (URL omitted )”
Allaahul Musta’aan. And we all know wallaahil hamd that Shaykh Muqbil rahimahullah has spoken against this organisation advicing us to stay well clear from these Hizbees.
Just by way of clarification, on his website he also refers to the book: “Mafaaheem yanbaghi an tusahhah by Shaykh Muhammad Qutb”. : the infamous brother of Sayyid Qutb is being referred to as ‘Shaykh’
