by ✒️ “The one who compliments Ahlul-Bid’ah and praises them, is he counted among them?” Al-Imām Ibn Bāz (رَحِمَهُ ٱللّٰهُ) ✒️
Al-Imām ‘Abdul-‘Azīz Ibn Bāz ( رحمه الله) was asked: “May Allah grant you goodness O Shaikh. The one who compliments Ahlul-Bid’ah and praises them, is he counted among them?”
Answer: “Yes. No doubt. The one who compliments them & praises them is a caller to them. He invites to them. This one is from their callers — and we ask Allah for well-being.” Ref: Ta’līq Samāhatish-Shaikh Ibn Bāz ‘alā Kitāb Fadl Al-Islām li Shaikhil-Islām Ibn Abdil-Wahhāb (p. 29)
Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: “…and whoever invites people to misguidance shall have to carry the burden of its sin just like those who perpetrated it without their sins being diminished in any respect.” (Muslim 2674)
Al-Imām Abu Muhammad ‘Abdur-Rahmān Ibn Abī Hātim (d. 327AH) said: “I heard my father (i.e. Abu Hātim, d. 227AH) & Abu Zur’ah (d. 264AH) command with boycotting the people of deviation & innovation. They were both very stern in their view regarding this matter with the utmost sternness. And they would forbid writing books based upon opinions without recourse to the narrations. They forbade sitting with the People of Theological Rhetoric (Ahlul-Kalām) & from looking into the books of Ahlul-Kalām. They would both say: ‘The person of theological rhetoric will never prosper.’”
