Shaykh Hassan ibn Abdul-Wahab Al-Banna [رحمه الله]: Is Shaykh Rabi’ [حفظه الله] trustworthy?
Question: there is a preacher in our country who claims, “I don’t take knowledge from Shaykh Rabi because I don’t trust him.” What do you say to this, O Shaykh? May Allah reward you with good.
Shaykh Hassan ibn Abdul-Wahab Al-Banna: In the name of Allah, all praise is due to Allah and praise and salutations be upon the Messenger of Allah. This person you reject and I also reject with the same rebuttal.
This person does not know the respect the reputation of Shaykh Rabi’.
Shaykh Rabi’ was praised or made famous by Shaykh Bin Baz [رحمه الله], Shaykh al-Albani [رحمه الله] and Shaykh Uthaymin [رحمه الله].
And al-Fawzan and al-Luhaidan and others, and they all say that he is The One who cares about criticizing and praising (people), for many years.
And they said good things about him. He is trustworthy in it So what about after all this (praise)? What do we do?
We leave him (this Miskin), because there is no one who performs the task of jarh wa ta’dil more trustworthily than Shaykh Rabi.
And his disciples testify to this. Among others, Shaykh Ubayd al-Jabiri and Shaykh Bazmul and others say about him that he is among the best and most trustworthy among the people of Jarh wa Ta’dil. Wallaahu A’alam.
